Website re-design for an IT consultancy
Working with marketing agency Channel Tools, I was instrumental in the re-design of this large WordPress website. This London based business is a leading IT consultancy with clients that include the London Insurance Market and the NHS.
The legacy WordPress website stretched to hundreds of pages, posts and events dating right back to 2015. Fear of losing search engine rankings had stalled development of the website, and in the meantime their core WordPress CMS, plugins and theme had all become out of date.
I set about implementing a program of content updates, re-mapping and a total overhaul of the design.
Website re-design focused on lead generation
Although the client was streets ahead with their optimisation and ranking positions for many hundreds of keywords, conversions were very low.
The aim was to increase the lead generation capabilities of the site, while retaining its usability and organic rankings. To achieve this, I re-designed the site page by page, focusing on opportunities to capture data and convert browsers into buyers.
A library of downloadable resources was introduced, with optimised landing pages and lead capture forms – alongside improved calls-to-action integrated into the page content.
Website design with SEO included
This website had undergone months of search optimisation and maintenance, and as such it was vital that I maintained page rank and performance after the re-design was launched.
Given the huge number of pages, posts and events the task of maintaining optimisation performance had to be managed with great care.
I mapped all of the keywords and phrases that each page was ranking for, and ensured that these were maintained and improved across the website.

Optimised for performance
This project took six months to complete, with hundreds of hours in management, content editing and search optimisation on top of the re-design and development. The client now has a website that is much easier to maintain, optimise and build upon.
